Harbour and Ship Crane Hoist Ropes

Harbour cranes are also known as dockside cranes and sometimes ship cranes are called ship to shore cranes.

Both cranes use the same design format with the difference being where they are situated. The main crane body can typically pivot for easier positioning of the boom. The boom can be raised and lowered using a boom rope so that the loading hook at the end of the hoist rope can be positioned directly over the load to be lifted.

Dockside & Ship Crane Hoist Ropes

Our collection of ropes for the hoist are all of a compacted nature to ensure they run smoothly and are crush resistant, this is highly beneficial when wound on the hoist drum in multiple layers. These ropes are also rotation resistant to prevent unwanted spin when loaded; an important feature when lifting at these heights. The Warrington steel core with alternating sized strands in each hoist rope ensures high fatigue resistance, breaking strength and improved stability.

Available in diameters from 8mm to 22mm. Featuring 12 outer layers with the rest making up the inner Warrington core.
